UMTIG brings together researchers and graduate students from different disciplines such as civil, transportation, electronics and computer science, geography, and health sciences to enable interdisciplinary research in broad area of transportation planning, design, and operations. Examples of such interdisciplinary research initiatives include “Responsible Automation for Inclusive Mobility (RAIM): Using AI to Develop Future Transport Systems that Meet the Needs of Ageing Populations” and “Applying Artificial Intelligence to Improve the Resilience, Fluidity and Safety of Road Freight Transportation in the Canadian Prairies and Northern Region”.
