Research Title:

Optimization of semi-flexible transit operation in low-demand conditions

Biography:

Sushreeta Mishra is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Manitoba. Sushreeta’s primary research interest is in transit operations and planning, and her Ph.D. thesis focuses on optimizing the operation of semi-flexible transit for low-demand conditions. Her research interests also include traffic safety and rural accessibility. She has published articles in scholarly journals including Transport Policy, Journal of Transport Geography, Public Transport, IATSS Research, and Papers in Applied Geography. She has also presented her research in TRB Annual Meetings, TAC Conference, and CUTA Young Leaders Summit 2019. Sushreeta works as a MITACS intern at CUTRIC and is responsible for the development of a python-based optimization tool for electric bus scheduling. She is also currently serving as the secretary of the ITE Student Chapter. Sushreeta has received several scholarships including the prestigious Gordon P. Osler Graduate Scholarship, UMGF, and the Price Graduate Scholarship for Women in Engineering.
