A framework for reliability-based weather-responsive speed management for rural highways located in extremely cold regions
Navoda Yasanthi Rillagodage is a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Manitoba. Navoda received her Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Manitoba, and her master’s degree in Environmental Systems Engineering from the University of Regina, Canada. Navoda received her bachelor’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka.
Navoda brings extensive knowledge in different road safety topics including speed management, traffic safety enforcement, road safety education and collision mitigation. More specifically, she aims to apply a holistic approach to improve road safety using machine learning algorithms used in transportation engineering. She currently serves as the vice president of both University of Manitoba’s ITE student chapter and Functional Transit Winnipeg. Navoda also volunteers with the Young Professionals’ Committee of the Canadian Association of Road Safety Professionals (CARSP).
