Biography:

Jack’s passion for transportation engineering – and particularly railway engineering – has been cemented by his early career experience and previous undergraduate research work in the field of railway engineering.

Jack began his career as an Engineer in Training at Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railway where he supported incident analysis efforts and data-driven changes to company-wide track standardsand track welding procedures. This role provided an opportunity to accumulate a foundation of technical knowledge regarding the rail/wheel interface through material sciences and failure analysis of broken rail components.

Jack is currently working towards the completion of his master’s degree and his research interests are focused on aspects of railway engineering and freight systems/network analysis.
