Supervisor(s):

Dr. Babak Mehran

Research Title:

Motion planning of autonomous vehicles near the intersection in adverse road-weather conditions

Biography:

Homa pursued her passion for engineering at the Sharif University of Technology, where she obtained her master’s degree. Specializing in transportation engineering, Homa’s master’s research focused on an intriguing challenge: optimizing and synchronizing train timetables to enhance passenger experiences. She developed an optimization model and employed a genetic algorithm to minimize travel time for passengers while maximizing their comfort.

In 2022, Homa started her new chapter in her academic journey by commencing her Ph.D. at the University of Manitoba. Her current research endeavors revolve around the motion planning of autonomous vehicles near intersections, a field that holds immense promise for shaping the future of transportation.
